Starting on First Fruits, we are commanded to count 50 days before the next big Feast. This is a time of spiritual preparation for the anointing that will be granted on the Feast of Weeks. As we count the Omer, we grow closer and closer to our Bridegroom and pray we may be found carrying enough oil. We must always be ready, though we may not know the day or the hour of His return.
